Our Story

Our story begins when a young graduating medical student in 2008, became frustrated when she began to understand that providing health care services and health promotion outreaches were insufficient to address the underlying inequities and injustices that eventually led to morbidities and mortalities she saw every day at her clinic.

That frustration led her to spend time at the Gender, Women and health Department at the World Health Organisation in 2008 and this ignited a passion to integrate gender and social inclusion in all health and development practices.

Emilomo worked for different community-based organizations and international development organizations in different countries in sub-Saharan Africa, Western Europe, and Southeast Asia for over 15 years. During that period, she also started PhD research focused on social network analysis and mapping among vulnerable groups, and she has integrated that into her gender analysis work.

Tired of finding gender mainstreaming being integrated as an ‘add-on’ to development projects, she teamed with experts across different disciplines in health and development, who shared the same values to start a consulting group that put ‘gender and social inclusion’ at the heart of every project and intervention.

How nice to meet you.

What our clients are saying

It has been a real pleasure to work with the AISE team on this project (E4A-MamaYe evaluation), particularly how you have collaborated and allowed us to be part of shaping the various pieces of this work. These were really integral in formulating our vision of the next investment – so really important and your work was so helpful!

- Alice Tilton-E4A-MamaYe Programme Manager, Options Consultancy Service.

I worked with Emilomo between August-December 2022, on the Rapid Learning Review of the Tackling Deadly Diseases in Africa Programme (TDDAP) commissioned by the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO) Pan Africa Department (PD) as part of Third-Party Monitoring (TPM) services provided by Tetra Tech International Development. The Rapid Learning Review was successfully conducted and submitted to FCDO on time and received positive feedback from FCDO achieving a very respectable score of 26/28.

Emilomo was a pleasure to work with, responsive, and attentive to all feedback received. She was very systematic in her approach to the work, knowledgeable, and delivered interesting and useful results. I would welcome the opportunity to work with Emilomo again in the future.
